Health Promotion of Immigrant Mothers of Children with Developmental Disabilities is a community event to present and discuss research project findings . We invite members of the academic community, social services sector (service providers) and public in general, to analyze and discuss the health promotion needs of immigrants mothers main caregivers of children with developmental disabilities living in the GTA.

Georges Danhoundo, PhD, Adjunct Professor and the Meighen Wright Postdoctoral fellow of the Office of Women's Health Research Chair in Mental Health in the Faculty of Health at York University, will be presenting one of his most recent research on the accountability frameworks and mechanisms in malaria prevention and treatment programs targeting women and children in the Republic of Benin (West Africa).

Dr. Nazilla Khanlou and Dr. Ulland Niel will be presenting a talk on "Equity based health promotion for black mothers wit children with develomental disability".
This conference brings together clinicians, students, community members, policy makers, and researchers, for discussions on racialized maternal health. The theme of this year's conference is: Politics of the Black Pregnant Body.
Registration for the conference will begin at 8am, and the conference itself will occur from 9am to 5pm. Through talks, panel discussions, and poster presentations, this conference aims to educate, inspire dialogue, and create opportunities for networking and change within the Canadian maternal health system.

community‐based qualitative study in which racialized mothers and service providers were interviewed. A brief video of the project will also be presented.Emerging recommendations will be shared.

This one-day event is organized by the Women's Health Research Chair in Mental Health and the Lillian Meighen Wright Scholars Program Academic Lead, Dr. Nazilla Khanlou, and the Advisory Committee of this year’s Learning Institute.
We are now accepting abstracts for posters to be displayed, from community organizations, institutions, advocates, students, researchers, and any other interested member of the community. If you have a relevant research poster to display (a new poster created for this day or a poster you have presented elsewhere) then send us your abstract for the poster by the due date following the guidelines below. Please note that the overall focus of the abstract and poster should be related to one of the following themes:
1) Maternal-Child Health, and/or
